Welcome!

Grammy is 68 years old and is completing a 50 state half-marathon challenge by the age of 70. Yes; that's right, she is running, walking, skipping, hopping (but not crawling) through 50 states in 50 races for a total of 655 miles. She started January 2010 and will finish all the races by December 2014. This may sound easy to you but Grammy says it's hard! David, Grammy's son, has volunteered to run with her--sometimes she needs a little encouragement along the way.

In order to make each mile more meaningful, Grammy hopes to raise $100,000 for the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber Foundation. Check out the About Us section to find out why. You can help by running or walking with her as she competes in races across America, or join her in local races in the Erie, PA area and/or by donating to the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber Foundation. The Barber Foundation is the fundraising arm of The Barber National Institute, which helps more than 3,600 children, adults, and families find hope and opportunities. From an Autism Center for Excellence to Connections Camp therapeutic summer program, from Happy Hearts Preschool programs to Job Training and Placement, the Barber National Institute helps children and adults with disabilities lead more productive lives. Help them continue to Make dreams come true for these children and adults and their families. Click on the side menu options and see what we're doing . . . then join our cause.
